POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Embedding sustainability management into strategy is just the first step.  To ensure everyone is on board, we will partner with your organisation through strategy design and planning to transformation management, working and driving advanced innovative approaches at all levels of your organisation.

With more than 20 years of experience understanding the challenges faced by some of the world’s leading companies across multiple sectors, we are poised to help in your sustainability journey. Learning your value drivers and corporate sustainability strategy, we will engage with you to develop policies that will build awareness and create guidelines and standards.  We help guide your employees to increase chances of successful changes in management and pervasive alignment towards meeting sustainability goals.

Sustainability Management System (SMS) Policy

A Sustainability Management System is a planning document that establishes and explains an organisation's policies based on values and integrity.  We will tailor the SMS to establish the organisational mindset of long term value through Triple Bottom Line as well as to fit the culture of your workforce.

Environmental Management System (EMS) Policy

This focuses on the decision-making process to improve efficiencies and impacts on workflows, purchasing decisions, and end-of-life management.  The EMS will help target and outline operational goals at the frontline, such as:

  • Solid waste prevention

  • Energy conservation

  • Water conservation

  • Pollution prevention of water, land, and air

  • Procedures for known chemicals / hazardous materials on site

Environment Preferable Purchasing (EPP) Policy

Using an EPP, we will work together with you to customise your purchasing decisions to ensure that procuring services and products have a reduced effect on human health and the environment, as compared with competing goods or services that serve the same purpose.

Procurement processes will include environment responsibility as a factor in the purchasing decisions such as:

  • to consider goods and services which can be manufactured, used and disposed of in an environmentally responsible way

  • give preference, where items are of a similar cost, to those that are manufactured with a high recycled content

  • specify items that can be recycled or reused

  • favour suppliers that are committed to environmental improvement

  • consider "whole life" costs and impacts when assessing equipment for purchase

  • communication, to successful implementation
